Beautiful pictures of gorgeous braids, buns, upswept styles. Now if my uncoordinated fingers can learn to do them! Like all braiding books, you're advised to learn how to do the braids on yourself first, without looking in a mirror.
My 10 year old daughter is obsessed with this book. Even now so long after Christmas she consults this book regularly to practice new hairstyles. She was quick to tell me how I was damaging my hair by washing it everyday and has placed me on a strict hair care regimen. Nice, right? I don't follow it, but she loves telling me everything she has learned in this book. I know who to consult when I have a braid question and I get pampered when she practices these hairstyles on me. So, yah, I think it is a 5 star purchase for EVERYONE - except maybe little brother who runs screeching from the very site of a comb or brush!
This has good instructions with each style. I wasn't as frustraited trying them because she does remind you that it takes practice. I got it to try new things with my granddaughters hair, she doesn't have the patience to let me do her hair. But the hints that was given help me try new styles. Most of them aren't overly easy, unless you're a natural like my daughter is. But I am having fun playing around with different ones. I learned it's best to start at the beginning and master the earlier styles first then the others will go smother.
This book is much more useful than the other book, The Ultimate Hairstyle Handbook: Everyday Hairstyles for the Everyday Girl. If you're looking for braids, this is the one to get.Lots of pictures, easy-to-follow instructions, helpful tips.
I bought this for my wife because she is a cosmetologist and enjoyed doing hair styles for herself and other women and little girls but she wanted to learn some new stuff and styles, and she has sure learned a lot through this book and has been practicing with our neice and comes out very good for her
Bought this for my 12 year old niece for Christmas because she loves Katniss Everdeen and Katniss wore braids. My neice is still learning new styles from this book nearly a year later. Very good for blonds because you can really see the more intricate braiding.
This is a great book. The detail & pictures really help out in achieving the correct braiding technic. We watch Vikings and loved the hair styles so decided to get this book to try em out. It has everything you could want except the fishtail braid. I like the tips she also gives on getting healthier hair. Overall, great detailed book & great everyday styles.
Abby nails it every time, she's on youtube walking through steps as well. These are wonderful hairstyle ideas and most are pretty easy to follow the pictures. It will be your hair type that will throw you off and say it "doesn't work" but give it a try and make sure not to expect a lot from freshly shampooed hair, she points this out as well...."dirty" hair makes for amazing hairstyles.
My daughter loves this book! She's really into hair. This is the perfect braid starter book. Easy to follow step by step instructions. She practices on the manquinne I bought her.
