I have been offering bridal makeup services for several years and I am looking to build more confidence in bridal updo styling. I wanted to find a book that would show step by step styling. The reviews here were very positive, and as a bonus, it also addressed the business end of working with brides. Figuring you can never know too much about your business, I was really excited about the arrival of this book.As soon as I opened the box, I realized how dated the book looked. I hadn't noticed the dates of the other reviews (all almost 10 years old) It was published in 1998. That doesn't seem like so long ago, but in styling terms, it's an entire era. The updos demonstrated were too dated to consider offering my brides.The business advice is all aimed towards building a "bridal department" in a salon. Most of it is common sense. This advice would not be helpful to an established bridal company. The advertising and networking tips would only be helpful for beginners aiming for local clientele. This book was written when the internet was too new to be the second nature part of our lives that it is today. So again, like the hair styles, it's really advice from another era.After reading a few pages and flipping through the rest of the book, I quickly realized this book is not worth the $40.

I purchased this book thinking I would get some good ideas for updos. A good style book is in the same price range. What I got were some great updo ideas with very good technichals and a whole lot more. The book tells you exactly how to go about setting up a bridal department in your salon. Or if you don't want a whole department there is a lot of good information on servicing the bridal client. There is good help for pricing structures, scheduling the bride, selling services, make-up, networking with others who serve the bride, even making head pieces for the bride and/or her party. Much of what the book has to offer is good for business even if you never serve the bride. The best money I've spent for a professional book yet. And I've been in business for 15 years.

This is the best source of information I have found on the business aspects of bridal beauty services. The book arrived promptly and in excellent condition!

This is an incredibly readable book! Even if you don't keep bees (I don't because I can't), I love them and I loved this book! It gave me so much information and I go around talking about bees and this book now to practically everyone I meet. It has also raised my interest in other types of creatures and expanded the universe of my world tremendously. This is such a good good book!

This book is the most complete and accurate book about honey bees. I raise Honey Bees just for the love of bees and have read hundreds of books on this topic. William Longgood is the expert on bees. I wish more bee keepers would follow his sound advice and his practices then we may have more healthy bees on our planet. I use Top Bar hives not Langstroth but this book looks at the bees not the type of equipment used. A definite must read.

Though William Longgood's writing is often overly flowery and formal and philosophical, the behavioral peculiarities about bees presented in "The Queen Must Die" are undeniably fascinating. I am not a beekeeper but nonetheless found myself thoroughly engrossed.

This is a great book, I first bought it because it was recommended to me by a bee keeper who I respect.Now if it not "the only book you will need" as this friend said, I totally recommend reading it, because not only it is full of information, but it also leads you to ask yourself some question about bees.

I was glued to this book. Easy read. I’ve learned a lot of great things about the honey bee community. Think “Borg” of Star Trek series and mystical.

this was such a good read and great info for new beekeepers. I think it would be enjoyed by others who are not beekeepers too.

This book is the most informative and interesting of all the bee related book that I have read, The information is user friendly and easy to understand and incorporate. Very good read.

A must read for anyone even mildly interested in honey bees. The author does a perfect job sharing the magic of bee life and paralleling it with mankind.

Easy to follow examples that really work! Great book on not only learning JavaScript, but using JavaScript for all things backend. Great book that explains the technologies needed for web service applications. Densely packed with information that will continue to help me learn for years to come.

I love this book. Jim Wilson has managed to present Node in its full context as a versatile run-time environment. This book even makes Node programming fun. It's also really well written with excellent code samples to illustrate the patterns and applications discussed in the text.

This book is full of excellent tips, tricks, and insights into the current best practices for Node development. Highly recommended!

I bought this book from a recommendation of a coworker. So far the couple of chapters I read is easy to understand and follow. Coming from a C# programming background this book makes the transition to Node.js a little easier.

Good book covering lots of useful techniques. Coding projects in each chapter are self explanatory and likely useful for a server-side JavaScript developer.

Something about the way this book was written did not click with me at all. I think maybe the writer is a little too used to async design because the structure of this book is all over the place. I'll say it made for an ok pocket-reference for me but I already had a working knowledge of node. For anyone trying to learn node from this book I would not recommend it.

This book has a lot of great information, I would give it 5 stars if the online code examples were complete, unfortunately a number of the folders are empty so I cannot reference the correct code when I am stuck.
