I read another book about franchising (based on Amazon's top ratings) but found it to be rather dull and not very insightful. This book covers the topic from soup to nuts (the nuts being up until you actually purchase a franchise). I found the book very entertaining and easy to read to the point that I finished it in a few days (not easy for me since I am a slow reader).The author takes a very practical approach to lowering your risk when finding and purchasing a franchise. He doesn't push franchising on you and even has a test to see if you are a right fit for franchising. The book also answered most of my questions like: Should I use a franchise consultant and what do they do in the first place? How much can I afford to start a franchise? Is financing available? What is the process of purchasing a franchise? What is the FDD and what parts are important? What should I ask when I talk to other franchisees? and more.I would have liked the author to go more into if a person should create a LLC, S-Corporation, etc. There was only a paragraph on that and I'd like to know more about the plusses and minuses of each and when to create one. Other than that, the book was fantastic. Buy this one first before any others!

A product so entertaining that you'll want to visit New Jersey and feel jealousy towards the people who already live there, at least temporarily in most cases... okay, I did not initially intend to make a joke, but did it anyway. And I'm honestly not even being THAT facetious right now- this book series really does emphasize the awesome, silly, creepy and fun things hidden away in the various nooks and crannies of our big ol'weird USA.

This was one of those books where I thought about buying it for years, and just never got around to it. Once I actually did, I was so pleased with all of the stories. Even though local spooky stories is my "thing", I still really got a lot out of this. I think it's also a perfect coffee table book to leave out for your guests. (At least, for me, since I live in NJ)

Whether visiting or a long time resident, there is something for everyone in these books. Go ahead and read and explore. I dare youWhile visiting a friend I stumbled onto this book they had on their coffee table. I had to have it. If you like exploring weird and different places this book has tons of suggestions. Bring a friend to explore many of New Jersey weird mysteries, many of which have not been solved to this day.

I love this book, and can scroll through it for hours. It is well organized and presented. The book is mostly made up from contributions from readers hailing from every nook and cranny of the U.S.A., even Puerto Rico!There are some strange stories and people presented herein. Documented true stories of grisly murders, sightings of lights in the sky, and cryptozooilogical beasts.I only have two complaints concerning this anthology of the odd. First, I wish it had more pictures. Second, I wish it was longer! I've read through it several times now. A lot of people have complained that this is not a "roadmap" to various eccentric sites across our fruited plains... but in these days of the internet... why waste the space in this book? I was able to look up many of the locations that appear in the book. I consider this a non-issue.I need to get some more of the individual "Weird" books, which focus on individual states. Unfortunatley for me, "Weird Pennsylvania" focuses almost entirely on eastern PA. A lot of people have pointed this out.

this is a great read, I am working in New Jersey for an extended period and love to see some of the not so famous sites, this book has it all, different haunted stories and just some crazy stuff that has happened here and some places that you can still go see. if you are going to be spending any time in NJ or live here I would recommend this book as some of the stories are very interesting.

This has been such an interesting book to read. It is fascinating and great to read all the way through or in pieces. I love to read little tid-bits to my husband just to see his reaction. I bought the book before we took a trip and it proved to be most useful in finding some unique places to visit. It makes me want to travel the U.S. just to see all the places mentioned by Mark Moran. He did a super, super job with this one.

Love stuff like this. Taking off 1/2 star cuz some stories really did need a little more info to make them interesting. But overall very satisfied. Trouble putting it down.

What a great book! Can't beat the price either. Was used and marked as used but DEF in better condition that stated. Very impressed and will go through this seller again!

Frantz Fanon the great scientist, revolutionist hero wrote an eloquent edifying book on decolonization. This book was published after five years of the Algerian Revolution. Fanon record the revolution and cherishes freedom. He enforces that real mastery lies in struggle. The book is for all times. It is a masterpiece. It represent universal ideas though it triggers the Algerian struggle for independence.

I have other copies of this, but they are falling apart and I find I go back to this book or chapters from it over and over in my teaching and research.

Book came in great condition - no complaints.

I don't understand the negative reviews...those people either miss the point or only gave it a cursory read. THIS BOOK PROVIDED THE INFO TO PUT THE LAST PIECES TOGETHER IN MY SWING. If you are a swing by the numbers, memorize position person then this may not be the book for you. I have been trying to swing by feeling the clubhead for a long time, letting the body and arms etc respond to the motion of the weight of the clubhead. I have read after Ernest Jones, Manuel de la Torre, Al Geiberger (Tempo; Sybervision), Kostis, and Flick and all of them are teaching very similar core principles, how to use the hands or arms to control the motion of the golf swing. I got hung up on the issue of a conscious weight shift, yes or no. Sometimes I'd do it to start the downswing and sometimes I would try to let it happen in response to the club momentum. THE NATURAL GOLF SWING PUT IT ALL TOGETHER FOR ME. Brilliant understanding of a way to break the motion down into a small, repeatable motion. Because I had been practicing feel of momentum of club, I got this right away. The practice drills reinforced the teaching and now I make a motion back and through IN BALANCE and it takes care of EVERYTHING! I don't worry about my arms or where the club goes, making the motion without interfering with the swing guarantees the right positions without thinking of them. Just feel the motion, stay in balance, and watch the ball fly toward the target. If you hit a bad shot, you will know why. You can feel it when it's out of balance. If you're ready to surrender your motion to simplicity, get this book...IMHO you'll never need another!

I have read every book I could find on how to develop a repeatable, accurate, powerful golf swing. I have studied every tutorial DVD I could find which includes those by Tom Watson, Sean Foley, Butch Harmon, Jack Nicklaus, Hank Haney plus multitudes of online YouTube instructional videos. Plus I'm a big fan of all the Golf Channel instructional programs. Each of these books, DVDs, online videos and TV instructional programs have their strengths and I have certainly benefited from them.Even so I believe I learned an enormous amount from Mr. George Knudson's book which provides so many insights into his struggles on learning how to build one of the most extraordinary golf swings to have ever graced the PGA tour. A golf swing that Jack Nicklaus called "a million dollar swing", but unfortunately Mr. Knudson had no interest in his putting game and so Jack Nicklaus also said that if he hadn't had a "10 cent putter" he would have won every tournament.Mr. Knudson also has a section on golf misconceptions that I found very helpful in putting into context so many of the "truisms" I've heard about how to swing the club that aren't true at all. I firmly believe that anyone who loves the game of golf and wishes to gain more insight into how to become a better player will enjoy this very easy and engaging read. Just knowing all the struggles that Mr. Knudson went through along with how he solved them to develop one of the finest golf swings of all time along with what he learned from his idol, hero and friend Mr. Ben Hogan makes his book "The Natural Golf Swing" well worth the money and time.

I’ve been playing for 1 year with lots of practice and lessons, 3-4 times a week for 2 hours per session. Love the game, want to improve so I put in the time. Did about 25+ lessons. Still 20 hdcpt. Instructors are always talking about shifting the weight, and I always tried to, but I couldn’t seem to do it. Many aspects about the swing confused me and there is so much information out there which leads to analysis paralysis. At the top of my backswing, it seemed as though making contact with the ball was next to impossible let alone smooth and effortless. I tried to swing with my hips, legs, everything; but I always felt disconnected.I have read 4 golf books so far: Beg Hogan’s 5 lessons, Keys To The Effortless Golf Swing, Bullet Proof Putting, and this one. This book is by far the best. Bullet Proof Putting is excellent for putting as well.The author breaks down the ‘feeling’ of the swing into easy to follow principles and great analogies. Needless to say I finally feel the weight transfer, in balance, and my swing is turning effortless and powerful. It feels amazing. Once you learn how to transfer your weight and stay in balance, the arms and hands swing via centripetal force and inertia automatically. It’s a thing of beauty. No manipulating your body at all, just transferring your weight back and forth. Sounds easy but it’s a feeling that the author breaks down and teaches you. Can’t wait to burn the new swing into muscle memory but the results so far are very promising.

Of the golf instruction books I have read this is for me the best one hands down.More talented golfers may benefit from more sophisticated approaches to the golf swing.But I don't.If I try to force anything or control anything in my swing I usually do not hit the ball very well.One key concept put forward by Knudson is that in order to gain control you have to give up trying to control the club.This works.It may take a while to get the swing down right but once you do, the accuracy and consistency of your shots will improve.Practice the drills to get the timing and feel you need to have this work.Basically your arms, shoulders and hands are very passive in the swing.The motor is your footwork and knees and body turn.I think you can sneak a little hand flick in at the last moment.80-90% of my swings are decent using this method vs maybe 50% on average for other swing types.

A bright, bold, comic book-like cover and Rowntree's illustrations bring the presidents to life, caricaturing them as gangsters, wrestlers, and superheroes. Each presidential section includes a narrative of the man's childhood, rise to power, presidency, and death. The tone is reverential bordering on worshipful. O'Brien manages to avoid any actual discussion of the many unsavory policies and actions of the presidents by either glossing over or ignoring them, offering instead bizarre facts and brash commentary. The treatment of African Americans and Native Americans throughout the text is particularly flippant, as each offending president or policy is often "on the wrong side of history." O'Brien also imagines that Chester A. Arthur killed his wife "for the sake of making this chapter more interesting," a truly harmful lesson (that women can be killed for entertainment) for the intended age group. In the "Conclusion" section, O'Brien discusses why he did not include living presidents and addresses questions students might have after reading this volume. Daniel O'Brien's Your Presidential Fantasy Dream Team is a good book about the presidents, based on O'Brien's more adult oriented book - How to Fight Presidents. O'Brien keeps it interesting for adults and kids, while keeping the book appropriate for students. It is funny and laugh out loud at times, while informative. As a teacher, it is a good fit for any class library. The book is helpful when it comes to certain ideas in the classroom, making the presidents come alive in interesting and often humorous ways. If you enjoy this book I would recommend the book The Lives of the Presidents :Fame Shame and What the Neighbors Thought.

I'm a big fan of O'Brien's first book, How to Fight Presidents, and so I was very excited when I learned that he was adapting it into a version suitable for children to read. I purchased the Audible edition for myself, and I was so pleased to hear how it turned out. It's still as informative as the first book, and is still a very entertaining and amusing read. I have purchased a copy for each of my two oldest nephews in hopes of inspiring in them a love of history.

Great book! I'm a homeschooler and honestly wanted my kiddo to read "How to Fight Presidents." I have a copy and love it but while it's fine for adults, it might not be the best for a middle school kid learning about our founding fathers and the colorful characters who ran our country. ;) This was exactly what I hoped for. A PG version of the same book with all the facts and fun stuff. It's silly and I'd compare the humor to the BBC's Horrible Histories. Fingers crossed that Dan O'Brien writes even more kid friendly history books. I'll be the first in line to add it to our must read list.

One of my favorite comedy writers. I was really happy DOB wrote a book I can share with my middle school students. The book makes the kids excited about learning about the U.S. Presidents. The stuff in our common core is so boring and usually wrong. DOB's book contains such neat facts about each president that it really helps the kids remember them. I don't think they will ever forget Taft after reading his chapter. I think it was their favorite.

Such a fun book and a great way to get children (and adults for that matter) into history and learning about the succession of men who have become president. Just enough information to get them asking questions and researching on their own. And just enough entertainment to make them want to read through till the end. My 8-year-old loves it. Highly recommended.

This book gives me hope. Just hope. Lots of hope. So much hope. Whatever is up with the next one.
