I really wanted to like this book because I love how the Feingold diet has helped millions of kids including my own. But this book wasn't intended for someone like my child who is on Stage 1 of Feingold diet. It's intended for kids who have moved WELL beyond Stage 2 and can consume high salicylate foods like cinnamon pretzels, peach gummy rings, chocolate, spices, ketchup, Fritos, and berries. Frankly, if a child can tolerate these kinds of foods, I don't think parents would need an entire book to get them through a Disney vacation.Also, more research should have been done on ingredients prior to publishing. It's not helpful to hear about what "might" be safe options. For example, I felt it was totally unhelpful to have a section recommending a specific type of Disney Lolipop (strawberry/lemon) and then stating "I'm going to guess (and hope) that it doesn't (have any artificial flavor in it)" p. 47.Another example of this is recommending the park's "Jumbo Turkey Legs" and then stating it's "likely free of the Big 3". I can appreciate that there is always uncertainty with food ingredients, but if you're going to write a book and make specific recommendations about foods, then I feel you should be able to state that you did your research and determined that the foods are confirmed to not have the ingredients you're trying to avoid at the time of writing. But instead, it seems the author is just going on her gut instinct and the fact that her kids "love these" turkey legs and other foods she recommends and "seem to do ok" eating them.In addition, the recipes she included in the back of the book are all for beyond Stage 2, with plentiful amounts of herbs and spices, as well as use of essential oils like peppermint which are known to be very high in salicylates/phenols. If I'm going to prepare my own meals and DIY insect killer for my child while on vacation, I'm certainly not going to add in extra salicylates! It would make more sense to be very strict on those meals and homemade products to help compensate for the unavoidable intake of troublesome and hidden ingredients when eating out.I realize that not all kids have issues with fragrances, herbs, and high salicylate foods like berries, grapes, and tomatoes, but when I purchased this book, I really thought it was going to be for someone who needed to follow the Feingold Diet.All that being said, I do appreciate Ms. Sheri Davis' work and feel her book can be helpful to a parent who is new to food intolerances and needs general guidelines and ideas.

I have never shared a poor review of something but this book was so terrible, I had to. It was mostly a book for purchasing your own food outside of Disney and meal planning ahead of time on your own. I was looking for lists or resources for eating Disney food, not my own food! A few restaurants were listed but not nearly enough to be considered comprehensive or complete. Waste of money!

This is a great book for anyone who has special dietary needs and is travelling to Disney or the Disney Cruise Line. The author gives a lot of tips and tricks on so many things - from requesting special foods from the chefs to a list of local grocery stores if you want to make your own meals. I travel to Disney World and take Disney cruises fairly often. Many of these ideas I was already aware of, but quite a few were new to me. Definitely an awesome resource for anyone who isn't that familiar with travelling to Disney, and still a worthwhile resource for those who've done it before.

The author has years of experience with special diets, and this really comes through in all of her tips and tricks for staying on a special diet while at Disney. Everyone knows Disney is great with food allergies, but this book definitely gives you a lot more insight into where, what and how you can stay on track on vacation with specific ideas of what to eat and the best restaurants. I would highly recommend this to anyone on a special diet who's about to head to Disney (or on a Disney Cruise!) It will make your vacation so much easier!

I love how the book gives you multiple ideas on getting my sons gluten/dairy free foods, since he is also a picky eater. I love getting the heads up on how to make my trip less stressful. She even gives addresses and telephone numbers for multiple places to go. I am eager to try the recipes and the advice on meal planning is helpful since Disney is all about planning. The advice on the airplane was also helpful since this is my sons first trip and he is on the Autism spectrum. There is also information about the disability pass. This book helps gives me other great tips too.

I would recommend this for anyone who is going to Disney on a special diet. We are traveling with people who have three different sets of dietary restrictions (paleo, feingold plus, and a seafood allergy). The tips, and tricks took the stress off the food planning aspect of our trip so that we can enjoy the FUN!

I really enjoyed this book. I found it incredibly helpful in planning my future trip to Disney World.The Feingold way of eating has been extremely important for our family and our many food sensitivities. I am pleased to know that Disney can be so accommodating with food allergies/sensitivities. I plan to use many of the suggestions in this book on our trip.

This book has so much information, it's almost overwhelming. Even though it's a guidebook for eating through Disney, I picked up some tips for travelling in general. I received a copy to review, but believe it's worth the regular price.
